What ages do you work with?I typically work with clients that are ten years old and older. I do not work with young children at this time.

What treatment approaches do you use?I have been trained in a variety of evidence-based treatments. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in addition to other evidence-based practices (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Grief Treatment, Grief Counseling, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and self-compassion and mindfulness-based interventions), depending on each client's individual needs. I am also beginning to integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into my practice.

How do I find out about what my in-network insurance covers? It is important to contact your insurance provider to inquire about your in-network coverage. Coverage varies based on many factors. It is important to verify your coverage before to your initial session. Potential questions to ask may include the following: 1. Is Jordan Neeley covered as a therapist under my policy? 2. Is Tidal Shift Counseling a covered provider under my policy (verifying the practice name ensures that the insurance provider is not viewing outdated information)? 3. What are my mental health insurance benefits? 4. Are there any specific limitations for my coverage (ex: telehealth vs. in-person, a certain number of sessions that will be covered, reimbursement only for certain diagnosis, etc.)?
-
What can I do if you don’t accept my insurance? If your insurance is not accepted, you can utilize your HSA/FSA for session fees. You can also request a Superbill, an itemized receipt, which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. A Superbill does not guarantee reimbursement.
-
How do I find out about my out of network coverage and using a Superbill? It is important to contact your insurance provider to inquire about your out of network coverage and use of a Superbill. Coverage and Superbill reimbursement varies based on many factors. It is important to obtain this information before your initial session. Potential questions to ask may include the following: 1. Does my plan cover services rendered by an out of network provider? 2. Is there a deductible to meet before coverage to an out of network provider begins? 3. What is the procedure for submitting a Superbill? 4. Is pre-approval required from my physician? 5. Are there any specific limitations (ex: telehealth vs. in-person, a certain number of sessions that will be covered, reimbursement only for certain diagnosis, etc.)

My friend, family member, or other loved one could benefit from therapy. What do I do?It’s not uncommon to feel unsure about the “right” way to offer support. Listening often goes a long way and allows your loved one an opportunity to share their experience and needs. SAMHSA has an informative article here, which includes safety related resources.
-
What if I have other questions? It’s completely normal to have questions, just ask! Questions are welcomed not only at the beginning, but throughout this process.
