Therapy for Millennial Women
You're a woman somewhere between your late 20s to early 40s, and maybe life is feeling...hard, lackluster, or just not meeting your expectations. You might be juggling a difficult career, managing a relationship or family, trying to find or affirm your identity, and so much more. At the same time, it may feel like everyone else has it all figured out.

As a therapist specializing in millennial women, I understand the unique challenges that may be affecting your emotional well-being. I'm here to help you feel supported as you navigate life transitions, and our treatment will focus on changing thoughts and implementing healthy coping skills to better manage your stress.

No two women are identical, but I've noticed that many of my millennial clients struggle with some of the following issues: anxiety, perfectionism, difficulties with boundaries, relationship stressors, low self-esteem, and difficulty navigating life transitions. Keep in mind this isn't an exhaustive list and that it's very common to experience more than one difficulty at the same time.

You're not alone, and therapy offers a safe space to receive non-judgmental support and learn new ways of taking care of yourself.

Millennial Anxiety
Anxiety disorders are among some of the most common mental illnesses, and they can range from feeling mildly distressing to downright destabilizing. You may be experiencing panic attacks, phobias, social discomfort, sleep problems, rumination, and more. Together, we'll identify your anxiety triggers and practice new techniques to manage your stress.

Difficulties with Boundaries
Do you struggle with people-pleasing? Do you get passive-aggressive when you're angry? Is it hard for you to assert what you need in your relationships? Identifying boundaries is tough, and implementing them with others can feel overwhelming. We'll start by identifying your relationship values, and then we'll evaluate areas where you may benefit from setting boundaries.
Relationship Stressors
Maybe you're questioning a current relationship in your life. You might be torn about whether you want to stay in a long-term commitment or take the next step with your partner. Or, you may feel lonely in your friendships and want to deepen the quality of your dynamics with others. In therapy, we can process your current relationship concerns, and we'll make space for identifying how you can bring more authenticity, vulnerability, and connection into your life.

Low Self-Esteem
You may function well on the outside but struggle with feeling insecure or fraudulent deep down. Or your self-esteem might be impacting your ability to take necessary risks or take care of yourself. Either way, low self-esteem causes people to doubt that they’re good enough, which can perpetuate depression and anxiety symptoms. Over time, this can erode relationships and compromise your quality of life. In therapy, we’ll focus on building your confidence through changing negative thoughts, practicing more self-compassion, and implementing more adaptive behaviors that bring you joy and meaning.

Life Transitions
Whether you're about to get married, start a new job, have a baby, or buy a home, any life transition can show up with intense feelings of loneliness, sadness, anger, grief, and more. Even exciting changes can be stressful, and it can be helpful to have a nonjudgmental space to explore these feelings.

Trauma
Trauma comes in many shapes and forms, and past traumas can affect both your mind and body. You may have unresolved trauma if you have difficulty regulating your emotions, feel immense shame, struggle with distress tolerance, or experience PTSD symptoms like flashbacks and nightmares. I specialize in treating all types of trauma and will focus our sessions on providing you with unconditional compassion and strategies intended to reduce your suffering.
